Hey! Do you know what it takes to have
a real friend? There exists a friend sticking closer than a brother.
Since the time those words were written over 3,000 years ago, human nature
has not change. Friendship is still as vital to human spirit as food
and water are to the human body.
Loneliness is
not an illness, but a healthy hunger, a natural sign that we are lacking
companionship. Just as hunger moves us to take in nourishing food,
feelings of loneliness should move us to seek out good friends.
Yet as Kyom
from Nigeria observes, "some people avoid all contact with
others". But isolating ourselves, for whatever reason, solves nothing
and inevitable makes us feel lonelier that ever. As it was said, "one
isolating himself will seek his own selfish longing, against all practical
wisdom he will break forth". So first we need to recognize our need
for friendship and then resolve to do something about it.
Do you have a friend? Take some
steps here of how to improve your friendship and make friends too.
